In an emergency situation, please call 911.

Non-emergencies: If you live in New York please call the New York State Child Abuse Hotline at 800.342.3720.

Outside of New York City and State, please call our Crime Victims Hotline at 866.689.HELP (4357) for resources, or find a list of call centers to report abuse here.

You may also visit the Child Welfare Information Gateway for a list of child abuse reporting numbers for your specific state.

Helping Abused Children: Child Advocacy Centers

Safe Horizon’s Child Advocacy Centers are child-friendly, safe spaces designed to provide child victims and their family members with comprehensive and coordinated investigation, counseling, and treatment services. At each Child Advocacy Center, Safe Horizon works in partnership with a team of experts from the New York City Police Department, the Administration for Children’s Services, the District Attorney’s Office, Corporation Counsel, and medical providers to provide these critical services in more than 4,000 cases each year.

Helping Adult Survivors of Abuse & Incest

If you are an adult survivor of child abuse, Safe Horizon’s Counseling Center can help. Our hotline can also provide referrals to a support group in your area.
